Wallingford Carnival 2012 will take place on Saturday
16th June.
As well as the Olympics and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee,
next year we will be celebrating over 50 unbroken years of Wallingford
Carnival, and our theme has been chosen to support that: Five Decades of Carnival
We hope this will inspire all of you who take part in the
procession to come up with your usual high standard of entries. The procession
will start off from the Hithercroft and pass through the town centre en route
to the Kinecroft at about 2:00pm.
This year's procession is being organised by Dee Cripps on behalf of Macmillan Cancer Support. If you are interested in entering the procession you
can find out more by Clicking Here.
The Carnival Princess will be chosen on Friday 8th June at the
Portcullis Club. Entrance to the competition is open to residents of
Wallingford & District and aged between 8 & 11 on the 16th June
2012.
To celebrate this Jubilee year, we will also be selecting a Carnival Queen and inviting past carnival Queens and Princesses to join in the fun.
Carnival Raffle Tickets will be on sale from early May and
programmes will be delivered to all homes in Wallingford with the "Window
for Wallingford" publication.
Wallingford Carnival 2012 will feature:
The Bohemians - a Queen tribute band. Thanks are due to Paul
Simmonds of Simmonds Removals for his very generous sponsorship of this band.
Other live music includes:
